Medulla is a census-designated place (CDP) in Polk County in the US state of Florida with 8,892 inhabitants (as of 2010).
geography
Medulla borders directly on the city of Lakeland to the north and is about 15 km northwest of Bartow and about 45 km east of Tampa . The CDP is affected by Florida State Road 37 .
Demographic data
According to the 2010 census, the then 8,892 inhabitants were distributed over 3,918 households. The population density was 604.9 inh / km². 78.9% of the population identified themselves as whites, 13.7% as African American , 0.4% as Indians and 1.2% as Asian Americans . 3.1% said they belonged to another ethnic group and 2.7% to several ethnic groups. 13.4% of the population were Hispanics or Latinos .
