The community Has ( Albanian  Bashkia e Hasit or Has / Hasi ) is one of the 61 communities in Albania . The area of the municipality with an area of 374 square kilometers in the Kukës Qark corresponds to the former Has District . The municipality has 16,790 inhabitants (2011). The municipality is named after the mountainous region of Has ( Malësia e Hasit ). The main town is the town of Kruma .

The community is very remote in northeastern Albania on the border with Kosovo . When the great powers ruled the border of Albania in 1913, they cut through the mountainous region of Has, which lies between the White Drin flowing to the south and the united Drin flowing to the west . When the communists cordoned off the border after the Second World War , the traditional economic, family and cultural ties between the inhabitants of the eastern part of the Has Mountains and Kosovo were interrupted. The main markets of Prizren and Gjakova were no longer accessible.

The remote mountain region of Has is sparsely populated and poor. The region is not particularly fertile, which is why it is also called Has i thatë ( dry has ). From the westernmost to the easternmost point of the municipality, the southern border is formed by the Fierza reservoir , the dammed Drin. On the other side is Kukës . The northeast border follows the watershed of the Has Mountains, which is at its highest point at Mali i Pashtrikut at 1988  m above sea level. A. increases. In the northwestern region bordering Tropoja previously was chromium promoted. The population lives almost exclusively from agriculture . There are no minorities in the Has community. The residents are almost without exception Sunni Muslims .

The roads in the church are very bad. The route from Kukës to Bajram Curr is now paved throughout. After the end of the Kosovo war , a new border crossing was opened north of Kruma, which connects the region with Gjakova. In many places the border was still mined after the war, during which many Albanian refugees had sought refuge in Has .
