Handball GDR Oberliga (men) 1975/76

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The handball GDR league of men , the top division in indoor handball in the GDR , chose the new GDR handball champion in 1975/76 .

Season course

After a normal double round (18 game days), the league was split into two. The first five played another double round among themselves for the championship, as did the bottom five teams against relegation. All teams had to play a total of 26 point games. Last year's champion ASK Vorwärts Frankfurt only came in 5th and was replaced by SC Leipzig , which won its second championship in the men's category and also won the second double together with the women's team. The only newcomer was the SG Dynamo Halle-Neustadt , which was immediately relegated after the relegation round in 1976. On the other hand, the bottom of the table, BSG Motor Eisenach, used the relegation to secure relegation.
