The Hohensteinsforst is a forest area and the name of a nature reserve in this forest area near Midlum in the Lower Saxony municipality of Wurster North Sea Coast in the district of Cuxhaven .
In the Hohensteinsforst there are several barrows , some of which are located within the nature reserve (including the Hohensteine ).
Hohensteinsforst nature reserve
The nature reserve with the sign NSG LÜ 119 is 49 hectares in size. It has been a nature reserve since August 2, 1985. The responsible lower nature conservation authority is the district of Cuxhaven.
The elongated protected area within the forest area is east of the A 27 south of the " Nordholz " junction . It places a predominantly near-natural forest under protection.
