The Windbrackenholz is a forest area ("Staatsforst Windbrackenholz") and the name of a nature reserve in this forest area in the village of Köhlen in the Lower Saxony city of Geestland in the Cuxhaven district .
The nature reserve with the label NSG LÜ 121 is 34 hectares and thus takes up less than half of the windbreak wood. It is located northeast of Köhlen in the northwestern part of the state forest of Windbrackenholz. The nature reserve is characterized by a mixed oak and beech forest, in which spruce stands can also be found in places . It is surrounded by coniferous forest and grassland used as pasture .
The area has been a nature reserve since August 2, 1985. The responsible lower nature conservation authority is the district of Cuxhaven.
