Bargsmoor nature reserve Christmas 2007

The Barg Moor , also Rechtenflethermoor called, is one since 1985 under nature conservation standing, 140 ha large moorland in Lower Saxony .

The nature reserve (NSG) "Barg Moor / Rechtenflethermoor" with the license plate NSG LÜ 118 is located on the territory of the municipalities Driftsethe , Sandstedt and Samtgemeinde Hagen in Bremen in the district of Cuxhaven .

To the east of the A 27 , larger areas were flooded with excavated moor during the construction of the motorway. In the course of time, a larger area of ​​forest has developed there, which is left in its original state. It offers game protection and is used as a breeding ground for birds. Rare grasses and bog plants grow there.

The purpose of protection is

1. to ensure that in some areas a growing raised bog cover can develop as a habitat for the flora and fauna of the bogs,
2. the preservation and promotion of diversity in the field of flora and fauna, especially the occurrence of the ivy-leaved buttercup,
3. securing an area for succession studies.

In the nature reserve, the degraded bog areas and the rinsing areas from the time of the motorway construction were left to natural succession. The dynamic development of different biotypes can be easily understood here. In addition, rare animals and plants can be found. The areas of the nature reserve are mostly wash-up areas from the time the autobahn was built. In addition, there is an area in the Rechtenflethmoor to the north, which is overgrown with birch bog forest , gale bush and whistle grass and an area of ​​the Lammersmoor in the south, which is covered with gag. Dynamic development takes place on the washing areas, which began with the relocation of willows , cattails , rushes , reeds and other plants.
