Kalinkowo ( Russian Калинково , German  Irglacken ) is a place in the Russian Oblast Kaliningrad . It belongs to the local government unit Stadtkreis Gvardeysk in Gvardeysky District .

Geographical location

Kalinkowo is located seven kilometers northwest of the district town of Gwardeisk (Tapiau) and can be reached via the municipal road 27K-202 from Borskoje on the federal road A229 . The municipal road 27K-221 from Gwardeisk to Jablonowka (Bartenhof) also runs through Kalinkowo . Until 1945, what was then Irglacken was a railway station on the Tapiau-Possinder (- Königsberg) line of the Wehlau – Friedländer Kreisbahnen , which is no longer in operation today.

The place called Irglacken until 1946 was founded before 1350. The manor village with a few other homesteads was incorporated in 1874 into the then newly established district of Bonslack (Russian: Gorki, no longer existent), which existed until 1945 and to the district of Wehlau in the Königsberg district belonged to the Prussian province of East Prussia . On January 2, 1916, the Irglacken manor was converted into a rural community .

As a result of the war, Irglacken came to the Soviet Union in 1945 with northern East Prussia . In 1947 the place was given the Russian name "Kalinkowo" and was assigned at the same time to the village soviet Borski selski Sowet in Gwardeisk Raion . From 2005 to 2014 Kalinkowo belonged to the rural municipality of Slavinskoje selskoje posselenije and since then to the urban district of Gwardeisk.

Before 1945, the population of Irglacken was largely of the Protestant denomination. The village was parish in the parish of the Kremitten Church (Russian: Losowoje), which belonged to the Wehlau (Snamensk) church district in the church province of East Prussia of the Church of the Old Prussian Union .
