The 92nd Cycling Tour of Catalonia ( Volta Ciclista a Catalunya in Catalan ) took place from March 19 to 25, 2012. The stage race was part of the UCI World Tour 2012 and the fifth race within it. The total distance of the race was approximately 1200 kilometers.

The 18 ProTeams are entitled to start . In addition, the organizer “Volta” Ciclista a Catalunya Associació Esportiva gave five wild cards to professional continental teams .
