- The Royal Opera ( fr . : Opéra royal du château de Versailles) of the Palace of Versailles in France is under Ange-Jacques Gabriel in the reign of Louis XV. accomplished.
- In 1770, after two years of construction, the Temple of Friendship was opened in the western part of Sanssouci Park in Potsdam . Frederick the Great had this small round temple built by Carl von Gontard in memory of his favorite sister, Margravine Wilhelmine von Bayreuth , who died in 1758 . With its counterpart , the temple of antiquity built in an axis north of the avenue , it is one of the earliest neo-classical buildings in Germany.

- The 52-year-old Alexander Roslin paints the oil paintings Prince Frederick Adolph of Sweden (1750–1803) and portrait of the artist Marie-Suzanne Giroust (-Roslin, 1734–1772, his wife).
- The 36-year-old Marie-Suzanne Giroust- Roslin creates a portrait of the sculptor Jean-Baptiste Pigalle (1714–1785) and a self-portrait with a portrait of the painter Maurice Quentin de La Tour (1704–1788).
