Law & Order: LA (initially entitled Law & Order: Los Angeles ) is an American crime series and the fourth offshoot of Dick Wolf's Law & Order series . It is the first series in the Law & Order franchise that was not set in New York City . The broadcaster NBC aired a season with 22 episodes between September 2010 and May 2011. The main roles are played by Corey Stoll , Skeet Ulrich , Alfred Molina , Terrence Howard , Regina Hall and Megan Boone .
concept
"In the criminal justice system, the people are represented by two separate yet equally important groups: the police who investigate crime and the district attorneys who prosecute the offenders. These are their stories." | German: “The legal system knows two important, independent authorities that serve to protect citizens: the police, who investigate crimes committed, and the public prosecutor, who accuse the perpetrators. These are their stories. " |
From episode three to eight, every episode began with these words. These are the same as they were spoken in the original Law & Order series . In addition, Law & Order: Los Angeles up to the eighth episode was also the first series in the franchise that had no opening credits, but only a fade-in of the series title. However, this fade-in was completely removed from episode six. The picture goes black for a moment and then the sequence continues and the actors are faded in below.
As the first series in the Law & Order universe, it returned after a long break under the new series title: Law & Order: LA. Furthermore, the introductory sequence has been changed a bit and an opening credits have been added, as in the other Law & Order series.
"In the City of Los Angeles, the people are represented by two separate yet equally important groups: the police who investigate crime and the district attorneys who prosecute the offenders. These are their stories." |
Cast and dubbing
Terrence Howard was originally traded for the role of Detective Rex Winters , but was eventually hired as Joe Dekker . The figure was specially conceived for Howard to enable two executive prosecutors to work on the side. Alfred Molina and Terrence Howard will each play about half of the episodes. After Regina Hall was temporarily provided as an assistant both prosecutors, the decision was finally, even a second ADA ( A ssistant D istrict A ttorney to occupy). Eva Price will now assist Ricardo Morales , while Lauren Stanton will work with Joe Dekker . The same system was already used within the Law & Order franchise for Criminal Intent , where two different detective duos alternated from episode to episode in seasons 5 to 8. Wanda De Jesus got the role of Lieutenant Arleen Gonzales and two episodes have already been filmed with her. On September 10, 2010 it was decided to replace the character with Rachel Ticotin . Although Wanda De Jesus has been replaced, she appears in the first episode, but only speaks one sentence when a suspect is brought in. The other scenes have been cut out.
11 January 2011 it was announced that in addition to Regina Hall and Megan Boone and Skeet Ulrich , the team of Law & Order: Los Angeles will leave even during the first season. A day later it was announced that Team B of the public prosecutor's office will be disbanded and that Public Prosecutor Ricardo Morales of Team A will become a detective and thus take over the role of Rex Winters .
As it became known on January 28, 2011, the character Connie Rubirosa ( Alana de la Garza ) known from Law & Order will join the team as the new junior public prosecutor.
The German synchronization was created under the dialogue director of Stefan Fredrich .
