The women's 10 km walk at the European Athletics Championships in 1986 was held on August 26, 1986 in the streets of Stuttgart .

For the first time, a walking track for women was on the program of the European Athletics Championships. So the alignment with the men's program continued. It started with a route length of ten kilometers, which was doubled from 2006 .

The Swedish walkers won two medals in this competition: silver and bronze. The European champion was the Spaniard Mari Cruz Díaz . Silver went to Ann Jansson . Third place went to Siw Ybanez .
