  3. station building Dohna
station Dohna: HSO above sea level 134.18, former Function / Meaning:. Train station, the first station construction on the Müglitz Valley Railway , today Function / Meaning: stop.
Location in the surrounding area / urban situation: The Dohna train station is located at the entrance to Dohna in the urban area and is typically arranged between the tracks and the street. It is one of the few stations on the line whose location was not changed when it was converted to standard gauge, and whose facilities at that time could largely continue to be used. However, the existing extensions to the station building were renewed and a signal box was added. The system was also changed and expanded over time. Station building, extensions:
    • Exterior: The two-storey, plastered station building with a gable roof and a dwarf house on the street side dates from 1890. When the route was rebuilt, the extension on the left, a waiting hall with a service room, was added. A front zone is formed by the gable roof, which extends towards the street and rests on 5 natural stone pillars and extends to the dwarf house of the main building. The half facing the main building, the waiting hall, was designed in the form of a horizontally boarded timber structure with generous windows and doors, the other half, the service room, as a closed-looking, plastered solid structure. Towards the tracks on both sides of the exit are small wooden crates that are open on one side and that were used to check tickets. The plastered annex to the right, which served as a goods shed, has existed since 1890 and was only rebuilt in the 1930s. It has one large loading gates facing the street and two large loading gates to the tracks, which correspond to the overall design of the route.
    • Inside: The waiting room has a wooden, dark brown waiting bench.
    • Special features / details: A large, double windowed door each leads into the waiting hall on the street and track side. The doors, the waiting hall and the track-side crates are painted dark brown and light yellow. The latter have half-height doors and windows facing the tracks. The loading gates of the right extension are doubled with diagonal profiled boards, which converge to a point in the middle of the gates. They are painted dark brown. All buildings are gray-brown plastered with trowel plaster typical of the Elbe Valley. The slate covering, which is rather untypical from the design concept, was similar to that of the existing central section from 1890. Changes / condition: The plaster color was originally of a lighter type. The buildings are not in acute danger, but in need of renovation. Special features / details: On the track side, in the middle of the building, there is the lettering "Dohna", underneath "Command signal box" in old German script. The letters are made as individual objects from deep-drawn, red painted sheet metal. Changes / Condition: The building appears to be in good, relatively unchanged condition.
    • Goods shed. Exterior: The elongated, 1.5-storey plastered building with a stone-clad base and a slate-covered gable roof is plastered in a gray-brown trowel structure. The roof protrudes over a good two thirds of the length of the building and is supported in this area by wooden struts. Underneath there are loading ramps and two goods gates on both sides. At the northern end of the side facing away from the track is a small porch with a hipped roof, which forms the entrance to the building. Interior: no information. Special features / details: The goods gates are doubled with diagonally running, profiled boards which converge to a point in the middle. The windows, like the gates, are painted dark brown, but with an additional white border. The small windows in the porch are white with a red border. Changes / Condition: The exterior of the building appears to be in relatively good condition.
  4. ^ Dohna
signal box station. Exterior: The elongated, two-storey structure with a widely cantilevered hipped roof and street-side porch is plastered in a gray-brown trowel structure. The roof is covered in slate. The control room for the railway staff is on the upper floor. Therefore, there are a number of large, flat-format windows here. On the track side, one sits in the middle, two more each round the corners except for the narrow sides. On the ground floor there are smaller white lattice windows. Interior: no information.

    • Müglitztalbrücke at km 6.332: length / height / width: 13.2 m / 6.0 m / -; max N / min R 150 m / 0 m. Short, simple concrete girder bridge, built May 1937 – November 1937.
  6. ↑ Sub-entity components of the entity Müglitztalbahn
    • Müglitztalbrücke at km 7.617: length / height / width 68.2 m / 3.4 m / -; max N / min R 3450 m / 274 m. Simple concrete girder bridge on three elongated concrete pillars.
    • Müglitzbrücke at km 8.572: length / height / width 30.0 m / 5.9 m / -; max N / min R 49 m / 225 m. Short, simple steel girder bridge with concrete abutments.
    • Müglitzbrücke at km 8.797: length / height / width 21.6 m / 4.5 m / -; max N / min R 89 m / 225 m. Short, simple steel girder bridge with concrete abutments.
    • Müglitzbrücke at km 9.072: length / height / width 14.0 m / 3.5 m / -; max N / min R 46 m / 0 m. Short, simple concrete girder bridge. Up to 1982 the rail supports were designed as a model project as spring pots.
  7. Component of the totality of the Müglitztalbahn (location in the vicinity / urban development situation)
The Burkhardswalde-Maxen station is located in the middle of the elongated town on the Müglitztalstrasse. To the north of the train station, behind a level crossing, is a 19th century hotel. from the narrow gauge time of the line. The reception building is not typically located between the tracks and Müglitztalstrasse, but behind the tracks. Description: Type 1.5-storey station building with goods floor.
Exterior: The goods floor was directly connected to the 1.5-storey reception building with waiting room and service rooms on the ground floor and the civil servants' apartment in the extended attic, but was set off in terms of design, depth and eaves height. While the receiving part is a solid building with yellow trowel plaster, the goods floor, which was placed on a broken stone base, was designed as a vertically boarded timber structure. In the slate-covered gable roof sits a dormer with 6 windows at the front and 7 windows at the back. Front left is a protruding window area with rubble stone plinth, which allowed the officer to inspect the level crossing. The two-door entrance to the waiting room with a wooden canopy is on the north side.
Inside: In the waiting room there is a long bench to the right of the entrance and a green tiled stove to the left. Lying in front, framed in green, are baggage acceptance and ticket issuance, in front of which is a round, wooden storage table. The walls are painted white and there is a green stripe along the ceiling. Gray artificial stone slabs cover the floor.
Special features / details: There is a sgraffito on the north gable , which refers to the Battle of Maxen in the Seven Years War . In the middle above a rider and a foot soldier is the inscription "Anno 1759", below which bullets were originally shown. The rear doors are doubled with diagonal profile boards that converge to a point in the middle, as were the gates of the goods floor. The remaining lattice windows and doors are painted brown and have a white border. Changes / condition: The building and its equipment are in dire need of renovation. The goods floor was destroyed by the floods in 2002 , and further damage to the remaining building can be assumed.
  8. ↑ Material component of the material entirety of the Müglitztalbahn (location in the vicinity / urban situation)
From Burkhardswalde-Maxen the route runs at ground level next to Müglitz and Müglitztalstraße, the latter follows it into the town center. The Mühlbach stop is in the middle of the village. The small reception building blends in well with the surrounding rural residential development. Description: Type reception building with goods floor modified on one floor. Exterior: The goods floor is directly connected to the reception building. The two parts are set apart in their design, depth and eaves height. The continuous gable roof is covered with plain tiles. At the southern end of the reception area, a light-colored plastered building, it protrudes and forms a front zone resting on a total of 6 wooden supports. The wooden, vertically boarded goods floor rests on a broken stone base. There is a loading gate on the track and street side. Interior: no information, as private.
Special features / details: A clock tower sits as a roof turret above the pre-zone in the south. It is paneled with wood and tiled. The loading gates are doubled with diagonally arranged, profiled boards, which each converge to a point in the middle of the gate leaf. Changes / condition: The building was recently refurbished for residential purposes, but it seems that a relatively large amount of substance has been lost. The external character of the building was retained to some extent, as its appearance in its original state was based on the surrounding small residential buildings. With the necessary adaptation of the interiors to the new use, however, a lot of the substance was probably lost. The goods floor was provided with windows, but the loading gate on the street side was retained. The track-side windows of the building were greatly enlarged, and the door to the window there was changed. The top floor was expanded and received a long dormer on both sides and windows in the gable area. The clocks were removed from the roof turret. The trowel plaster gave way to smooth yellow plaster. Some of the enlarged windows were made smaller again at the behest of the monument protection. Demolition of the goods shed due to flooding in 2002.
  9. Subject entity part Müglitzbrücke (km 13.880): length / height / width 13.0 / 3.2 / - max N / min R - / - short, simple concrete girder bridge.
Subject entirety part of the Müglitzbrücke (km 14.742): length / height / width 14.2 m / 4.6 m / - max N / min R 50 ‰ / 0 m. Short, simple concrete girder bridge. The embankment has been newly clad with rubble stones. Until 2002 there was a passage through the mill ditch directly below the bridge.
  10. ^ Station Niederschlottwitz
formerly. Function / meaning: train station; Today's function / meaning: breakpoint.
Urban situation: the Niederschlottwitz train station is located in the middle of the village. In contrast to the other larger station buildings on the route, the station building is not located between Müglitztalstraße and the track systems. Due to the lack of space, it was relocated behind the tracks. A separate signal box was therefore required, as otherwise the station master would not have an overview of the route. The station building stands parallel to and eaves to the tracks. Reception building - description: Type two-storey station with goods floor.
Outside: The goods floor is directly connected to the reception building with waiting hall and service rooms on the ground floor and officials' apartment in the converted attic. The two parts are set apart in their design, depth and eaves height. The roof is covered with slate shingles throughout. In the roof of the reception area there is a dormer window with six windows on the front.
Inside: On the wall opposite the entrance there is a ticket and baggage claim area, in front of the former there is a round storage table attached to the floor. To the left of the tracks, a wooden bench stretches across the entire width of the wall. To the right is a white tiled stove. All walls are paneled with wood up to about the ceiling. All wooden furnishings are painted brown, the windows are white.
Special features / details: A sgraffito depicting a typical local peasant couple is emblazoned between the windows of the attic on the south gable. Below is the station name "Niederschlottwitz". The goods gates, doubled with diagonally arranged, profiled boards, are painted dark brown, the decorative profiles are set off in white. The roofing is already based on the Ore Mountains instead of the Elbe Valley and thus deviates from the design concept typical of the location. - Changes / condition: The building appears to be in a relatively good condition, albeit in need of renovation, the waiting room furnishings are original and also in relatively good condition. The color of the goods gates was originally brown throughout.
Signal box - Description: Type signal box.
Outside: The elongated, two-storey building with a hipped roof is entered from the narrow northern side. The control room for the railway staff is on the upper floor. Therefore, there are a number of large, flat-format windows here. On the track side, one sits in the middle, two more each round the corners except for the narrow sides. The upper floor is only closed in the middle area on the street side. There are four small, red-rimmed lattice windows in a row on the ground floor, otherwise the ground floor is closed and thus reverses the principle of the upper floor. The ground floor is plastered in a trowel structure in light yellow. The upper floor, on the other hand, is clad in slate and the roof is also covered in slate.
Special features / details: The ground floor, with its light trowel plaster and colored window frames, corresponds to the design typical of the Elbe Valley. The use of slate for the upper floor and roof is typical for the Ore Mountains. This means that there is another deviation from the proposed design principle of location-based design. Changes / Condition: The outside of the building appears to be in good condition.
Railway bridge: length / height / width 72.0 m / 8. m / - max inclination / min radius 0 ‰ / 277 m, steel girder bridge on two elongated concrete pillars with rounded ends and with concrete abutments. The valley side is designed as a retaining wall. Location km 12.674.
  11. Oberschlottwitz stop
former. Function / meaning: breakpoint; Today's function / meaning: breakpoint, demand stop.
Location in the vicinity: After Niederschlottwitz, the route rises above street level for the first time. At the southern exit of the village, the breakpoint is in a singular position, elevated on a light embankment on the mountain slope. The station building there therefore had to be designed as a small, lightweight wooden structure. The dam drops steeply directly behind the building. After the breakpoint, the route crosses Müglitz and Müglitztalstrasse on bridge number 22, before passing a steep mountain gorge to continue on an elevated position to Glashütte.
Reception building: former function / meaning: reception building with waiting room and service rooms; Current use: waiting room in use, service rooms unused. Description: Type of single-storey, light reception building.
Outside: The small, single-storey reception building is a half-timbered building with dark brown glazed inverted formwork. The hipped roof is covered with plain tiles typical of the Elbe Valley. It is crowned by a clock tower in the middle.
Inside: The service rooms are on the left, the waiting room is on the right. Its equipment is simple. Opposite the entrance, a bench extends over the entire side of the room. 14. Lauenstein train station (DLST - 06392 IV), railway line Heidenau - Kurort Altenberg (HA 6605), Müglitztalbahn. Former Function / meaning: train station. Today's function / meaning: breakpoint.
    • Location in the area: From Bärenstein the route comes at ground level on the left of the Müglitztalstraße and the Müglitz to the Lauenstein stop, which is located at the junction of the road to the city. The tracks run between the street and Müglitz, the station building is atypically behind the tracks instead of on the street. Description: Type 2.5-storey station building with goods floor.
    • Outside: The goods floor is directly connected to the 2.5-storey reception building with waiting hall, service rooms and an official's apartment on the upper floor. The two parts are set apart in terms of design, depth and eaves height. The reception building is a plastered building with gray-brown trowel plaster, the goods floor is a wooden building with vertical, dark-brown cover panels and a loading gate on each side. The roofs are covered with slate shingles, as is typical of the Ore Mountains. There are 4 dormers in the roof of the reception building . The entrance to the waiting room is on the south side, the large double doors are set back. At the southern end of the track, the building has a protruding area. Its row of windows was used by the station master to see the level crossing directly.
    • Inside: The waiting room equipment seems to be at least partially preserved.
    • Special features / details: In the area pulled forward by the reception building, the city coat of arms sits as a relief and below the station name "Lauenstein" as a sgraffito. In the gable under the round window there is the sgraffito “Built in 1938”. Another, the National Socialist emblem with eagle and swastika, was in the middle on the left. The different plaster structure makes the place recognizable. The white lattice windows on the upper floor have light blue shutters. The gates of the goods floor are doubled with diagonally arranged, profiled boards, which each converge to a point in the middle of the gate wing.
    • Changes / condition: The building is in need of renovation, but apparently not in an acutely endangered condition. 2017: Remains of the interlocking technology are still present on the track-side eaves . The waiting room inside is still equipped with the benches from the construction period.
