  3. The tenement at Beilstrasse 16 is located in Dresden-Gruna, east of the Great Garden. The building, which was built around 1910, shows an objectified design language typical of the time. The high mansard roof, which almost dominates the structure, is particularly remarkable. The significantly reduced late Art Nouveau decor concentrates only on a few highlighted areas and components (fencing, entrance and dormer window). This type of design, with the functionality of the structure clearly coming to the fore, and facade decoration used sparingly, was characteristic of architecture after 1900 (early modernism, reform architecture, etc.). The visualization of the function took place in deliberate contradiction to the academically rigid architecture of the late 19th century with its overloaded, eclectic facades. The impressive building with its distinctive, idiosyncratic floor plan takes into account the bourgeois need for representation of the imperial era. This is particularly evident on the garden side with rounded corners and different, varied balcony designs. In addition, there is the elaborate equipment of the stairwell, which is illuminated by a light shaft. Here the colored glazing of the skylight, railings, apartment entrance doors etc. have been preserved. There may still be stucco ornaments behind the suspended ceilings on the upper floor. The monumental property of Beilstraße 16 results mainly from its architectural significance. Due to its architectural design typical of the time and its state of preservation (possibly the street side was designed a little more elaborately), the building, which was built around 1910, has an exemplary and documentary character for the residential building architecture in the first quarter of the 20th century with considerable originality and integrity. In addition, Beilstrasse 16 is also of value in terms of urban development history, as its example can illustrate the extent of the former suburb of Gruna.
  4. Aggregate settlement Gruna der Gemeinnützige Wohnungsbau-A.-G. (GEWOBAG), with the following individual monuments: the rows of houses at Falkensteinplatz 7, 8, 9, together with Schrammsteinstraße 1 (ID No. 09218420), Haenel-Clauß-Straße 2-10, straight No. (ID-No. 09218472), Hepkestraße 34, 34a, 36 (ID-No. 09218475), Vollsackstraße 1-7, odd number, (ID-No. 09218489), Vollsackstraße 2-8, even number.
