List of cultural monuments in the Neustadt (Dresden)

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The list of cultural monuments in the Neustadt includes the cultural monuments of the Dresden district of Neustadt . The basis is the list of monuments drawn up by the State Office for the Preservation of Monuments in Saxony .

The Prussian Quarter monument protection area (entered into force on January 21, 2000) is completely within the boundary , and the Elbhangs monument protection area (entered into force on March 28, 1997) also belongs to the Neustadt . In addition, from 1993 to 2011, the Inner New Town was classified as an urban development conservation area.

The Neustadt is the Dresden district with the most cultural monuments - for two main reasons: On the one hand, despite its central location, it suffered comparatively little damage from the air raids on Dresden in 1945 and large parts of it still have dense and old buildings. On the other hand, the extent of the new town is decisive; it is the district with most of Dresden's parcels (5125) and the second largest district in the city after the Dresden Heath . It is divided into the districts of Innere Neustadt , Äußere Neustadt , Leipziger Vorstadt , Radeberger Vorstadt and Albertstadt .

Due to the high number of cultural monuments, the cultural monuments of the district are divided into the individual districts:

The districts of Äußere and Innere Neustadt are completely within the Neustadt district. Numerous cultural monuments of the Radeberger Vorstadt district are in the Loschwitz district, numerous cultural monuments of the Pieschen-Süd district are in the Neustadt district and are included in the list of cultural monuments in the Leipzig suburb .
