Detailed memorial texts

  1. Monument text
The long side of the factory building at Robert-Berndt-Straße 2 in Dresden, OT Leuben, shows sophisticated and well-proportioned brick facades with center accentuation, pilaster strips and segmented arched windows. The long construction of the former asbestos factory Burgmann, built around 1910, has a high mansard roof. Except for the roof extension on the right hand side, it has largely remained unaltered. Its monument value results from the largely original structure and the design quality of the striking facades. The factory building is an exemplary testimony to the industrial architecture of the early 20th century. Apart from that, he documents the development of Leuben from a village to an industrial location (LfD / 2012).
