This list of Indian states according to gross domestic product sorts the 29 states and 7 union territories of India according to their economic output ( gross domestic product : GDP). In 2017, India was the sixth largest economy in the world with a GDP of 2,653 billion US dollars; In purchasing power parity (adjusted for domestic prices) the GDP was 9,597 billion international dollars (a comparison currency calculated by the World Bank ), making India the third largest economic power worldwide (compare historical development of the Indian gross domestic product ).
