Mühldorf was first mentioned in 1360. It was parish in Gabersdorf and belonged to the Glatzer Land , with which it shared the history of its political and ecclesiastical affiliation from the beginning. In earlier times it consisted of four parts.

The dominial share was owned by Jacob Güsner on Eckersdorf around 1482 and belonged to the von Zischwitz family ( Tschischwitz, Czeszwitz ) on Gabersdorf around 1520 . Bartholomäus von Wiese acquired it in 1571 , from whom it passed to his son Paul in 1590, who was married to Rebecca von Haugwitz on Pischkowitz . In 1602 he sold the dominant share to Gottfried von Schliewitz, whose descendants kept the estate until 1653. Since the estate was neglected and indebted due to the devastation of the Thirty Years' War , the Glatzer royal office sold this share to Heinrich von Ratschin in 1653. He married Helena von Haugwitz for the second time in 1657. Since this marriage remained childless, Elisabeth von Ratschin, daughter from Heinrich's first marriage, inherited the property. She sold the inherited estate in 1671 to the imperial Rittmeister Lorenz Degner von Degenheim auf Gabersdorf. As a result, it subsequently belonged to the noble families von Götzen and then von Magnis .

The second part consisted of a piece of forest and belonged to the Lords of Zischwitz auf Gabersdorf around 1360. A year later, the Glatz citizen Nickel Mohlstein bought it. Through his sons Paul and Lukas he came to the Glatz Minorite Monastery around 1400 . The third part belonged to the royal rent office and consisted of a meadow with two gardeners' posts. The fourth share was the Freirichtergut . Since 1684 it belonged under the jurisdiction of the Dominium.

After the Silesian Wars , Mühldorf and the County of Glatz came to Prussia in 1763 with the Peace of Hubertusburg . Around 1800 it consisted of 97 inhabitants.

After the reorganization of Prussia, Mühldorf belonged to the province of Silesia from 1815 and was incorporated into the district of Glatz from 1816–1945 .

In 1925 the community of Mühldorf had 23 houses, 42 households and 164 inhabitants.

As a result of the Second World War , Mühldorf fell to Poland in 1945, like all of Silesia, and was renamed Młynów . The German population was expelled in 1946. Some of the new residents were displaced from eastern Poland . 1975-1998 Młynów belonged to the Wałbrzych Voivodeship ( Waldenburg ).

Paper industry

Today's townscape is shaped by the two buildings of the former paper mills. The first paper mill was built at the beginning of the 20th century and served as a production facility until 1945. The second paper mill was built after 1945 and was a branch of the paper mill in Bardo Śląskie until the end of the 1980s . It was of economic importance for the region because it employed skilled workers from neighboring towns. Some of them lived in workers' settlements that belonged to the factory. With the transition to the market economy in the early 1990s, the second factory was also closed.

1997 flood

The floods of 1997 caused severe damage, which also affected the paper mills. They were in a poor structural condition and some of them were removed.
