The community Milíkov consists of the districts Malá Šitboř ( Klein Schüttüber , dialect "Klein Schöd"), Milíkov ( Miltigau ), Mokřina ( Krottensee ), Těšov ( Teschau ) and Velká Šitboř ( Groß Schüttüber , dialectively Groß Schöd ). Basic settlement units are Malá Šitboř, Milíkov, Mokřina, Těšov, Úval ( green at the Kaiserwald ) and Velká Šitboř. Milíkov also includes the Žírnice ( Schirnitz ) settlement and the Leimbruck desert.

Neighboring communities

Neighboring towns are Těšov in the north, Horní Lazy in the east, Podlesí , Úbočí and Manský Dvůr in the south, Žírnice in the south-west, Malá Šitboř and Velká Šitboř in the west and Úval in the north-west.

To the east, in the Kaiserwald, was the former mountain town of Schönficht , which was demolished in the 1950s when the Prameny military training area was built.

history

Milikow was first mentioned in a document in 1311, when the abbot Johann of the Waldsassen monastery leased the property to Konrad von Haslau . Under the Landgraves of Leuchtenberg in 1390 the property was divided into three. Around 1550 the Hertenbergers acquired most of Milíkov. Later, Milíkov was largely part of the Elbogen rule . After the manor in Krottensee was extinguished, its goods were connected to Milíkov. The Lehn mansion ( Manský Dvůr ) was exempted from the obligations of submission in the 17th century. 1722 bought Egerer Jesuits the freehold. After the order was dissolved in the course of the Josephine reforms, the property fell to the religious fund in 1772, from which it was acquired by the Metternich on Königsberg in 1801 . The Königswart estate later became the owner.

In Klein Schüttüber, which formed its own rulership, Christoph Ernst von Bigatto had the fortress converted into a castle around 1760.

After the replacement of patrimonial Miltikov formed a municipality in the judicial district of Bad Königswart and in the political district of Plan from 1850 with the districts of Klein Schüttüber, Krottensee and Leimbruck . In 1870 a weaving factory was built, which burned down three years later.

The place name in the 17th century was "Milikaw" or "Miligkau", in 1787 "Mildigau". The name Miltigau has been documented since 1875 . In 1879 the communities of Klein Schüttüber (with Leimbruck), Krottensee and Teschau were established.

At the end of the 19th century, the municipality of Miltigau / Miltikov was reclassified to the Marienbad district . In 1921 the Czech name was changed to Milíkov . In 1930 there were 437 people in Miltigau; in 1939 there were 383.

After the Munich Agreement , the village was incorporated into the German Reich in 1938 and belonged to the Marienbad district from 1939 to 1945 . After the Second World War Milíkov came back to Czechoslovakia; the German residents were expelled.

In 1974 the Malá Šitboř Castle was demolished. During this act of cultural barbarism, the Rococo statue of St. John of Nepomuk from 1757 opposite the castle was also destroyed. The Leimbruck district was closed in the 1950s.

In the course of the territorial reform, the municipality came to Okres Cheb in 1961 and Malá Šitboř and Těšov were incorporated. 1971 became Velká Šitboř with Úval to the district of Milíkov. Between 1976 and 1990 Milíkov was incorporated into Dolní Žandov . With the rebuilding of the community in 1990, the district Mokřina was added.
