NGC 4960 is a 13.1 mag light barred spiral galaxy of the Hubble type SBc in the constellation Haar der Berenike , which is about 114 million light years away from the Milky Way. It belongs to the Coma galaxy cluster and has been discovered twice; first on March 25, 1786 by Wilhelm Herschel with an 18.7-inch reflector telescope, which noted "F, S" (observation listed as NGC 4961 ); then on April 23, 1865 by Heinrich Louis d'Arrest (listed as NGC 4960 ).
