National Society of Film Critics Award / Best Actress
Winner of the National Society of Film Critics in the category Best Actress (Best Actress) . The awards are presented every year at the beginning of January for the best film productions and filmmakers of the past calendar year. In 1975 and 1977 there were two awards ceremonies in January and December, after which the National Society of Film Critics Award in 1976 and 1978 was not awarded.
The most successful in this category were the Norwegian actress Liv Ullmann and her British colleague Vanessa Redgrave , who each won the award three times. The film critics association has succeeded in presenting the Oscar winner 14 times , most recently in 2019, when the British actress Olivia Colman ( The Favorite - Intrigue and Insanity ) was able to enter the list of winners.
In 1982, the NSFC wrote film history when it awarded the Brazilian Marília Pêra . Pêra was the first South American actress to receive a North American Acting Award. In 2012, the German-American actress Kirsten Dunst won the award for her performance in Melancholia .
At the last award ceremony in 2020, Mary Kay Place ( Diane ) prevailed by twelve points over Zhao Tao ( ash is pure white , 28 points) and Florence Pugh ( Midsommar , 25 points).
