Lower jet stream is a place in Lower Austria and is in the same cadastral of the district Zwettl belonging municipality Zwettl Austria . According to the 2001 census, the cadastral community had 192 inhabitants on an area of ​​3.03 km².

The place Niederstrahlbach is located north of Weitraer Straße L 71 , at a distance of 3.25 km as the crow flies northwest of the city center of Zwettl. It is connected to the Austrian intercity bus network by the Postbus . The land registry area borders on Oberstrahlbach in the northwest , Gradnitz in the northeast, Zwettl Stadt in the east, Syrafeld in the south and Schickenhof in the west .

First mention and name interpretation

Population development

Niederstrahlbach was first mentioned in 1139 as Scelebaes (1157: Stralbach ). The name means something like " stream whose water flows quickly". It is derived from the jet stream, which, coming from the neighboring Oberstrahlbach, by low jet stream and the so-called humility trench towards Zwettl flowing city to there in the Zwettl flow (also: Zwettl Bach ) einzumünden.
