Obermichelbach is a district of the municipality of Wittelshofen in the district of Ansbach ( Middle Franconia ).
geography
The Hochwiesgraben, which is a right tributary of the Sulzach , and the Scheuerwiesgraben, which flows directly east of the village as a right tributary into the Hochwiesgraben, flow through the parish village . The place is surrounded by arable land and grassland with a few trees. In the northwest the field is called Haldenfeld, in the north Sallfeld and in the west Ebsingfeld.
Communal roads lead to Bernhardswend (1.8 km northwest), to Dorfkemmathen (1.9 km northeast), past the Neumühle to Untermichelbach (2.3 km east) and to state road 2218 (0.6 km south), which leads to Wittelshofen (3.5 km east) or past Illenschwang and Sinbronn to the B 25 near Dinkelsbühl (7 km west).
history
It is not known exactly when Obermichelbach was founded. It is certain, however, that the place was built near a sacrificial site of the god of war Tyr . A chapel was built in place of the sacrificial site. In the 14th century, this chapel gave way to a church dedicated to the Archangel Michael. In a document from 1325, the bishop of Augsburg Friedrich I. Spät von Faimingen confirmed that the Auhausen monastery received all income from the Obermichelbach church.
In Auhausen there is a reference to the local evangelist bell (Vespers bell): "SANCTVS LVCAS S 'MARCVS S' MATHEVS S 'IOHANNE †" as a transcription, diameter of 53 cm, it dates from the year 1280. It is therefore the four evangelists Lukas , Mark, Matthew and John consecrated. In the tower of the parish church in Obermichelbach, which was incorporated into the Auhausen monastery, as well as in the Feuchtwangen St. Johannis church , bells with matching inscriptions and the same features can be found, which undoubtedly indicate the same author.
During the Thirty Years War , the place was completely devastated except for three farms.
The Fraisch over Obermichelbach was controversial. It was claimed by both the Ansbach Oberamt Wassertrüdingen and the Oberamt Dürrwangen in Oettingen- Spielberg . The imperial city of Dinkelsbühl wanted to assert them on their estates. The village and township government had the box office Wassertrüdingen held. At the end of the 18th century there were 27 properties in Obermichelbach. Were landlords
- Ansbachic offices (4 properties; Auhausen administration : 1 Söldengut , 1 Söldengut with brewing and brandy rights; Feuchtwangen monastery administration : 1 estate, 1 estate)
- Oettingen-Spielberg (Oberamt Dürrwangen: 1 yard)
- the Duchy of Württemberg ( Oberamt Weiltingen : 1 farm, 2 farm estates)
- the imperial city of Dinkelsbühl (17 properties; catholic church maintenance: 1 estate; council administration: 2 half farm estates, 1 estate, 1 estate; imperial salmon care: 1 estate, 2 half farm estates, 2 estates, 1 estate; lake house maintenance: 1 estate; infirmary care: 1 estate, 1 estate; hospital: 1 estate, 2 estates)
- the German Order ( Obervogtamt Oettingen : 1 fiefdom, 1 Sölde).
There was also a church, a parsonage, a schoolhouse, and a community pastor's house.
From 1797 to 1808 the place was subordinate to the Justice and Chamber Office Wassertrüdingen .
In 1806 Obermichelbach came to the Kingdom of Bavaria . As a result of the municipal edict , the place was assigned to the Wittelshofen tax district formed in 1809 and the Untermichelbach rural community . This was renamed to Obermichelbach in 1813. With the second community edict (1818), two rural communities emerged:
In 1961, the municipality of Obermichelbach had an area of 3,652 km². It was subordinate to the Dinkelsbühl regional court in terms of administration and jurisdiction and to the Dinkelsbühl tax office ( renamed Dinkelsbühl tax office in 1919 , Ansbach tax office since 1973 ). The jurisdiction remained with the District Court of Dinkelsbühl until 1879, from 1879 to 1973 the District Court of Dinkelsbühl was responsible, which has been a branch of the District Court of Ansbach since 1973 . The administration was taken over by the newly created Dinkelsbühl district office in 1862 (renamed the Dinkelsbühl district in 1938 ). When the Dinkelsbühl district was dissolved in 1972, Obermichelbach came to the Ansbach district.
In the course of the regional reform , Obermichelbach was incorporated into Wittelshofen on May 1, 1978.
