Oliy Majlis ( Uzbek Oliy Majlis , Supreme Assembly ' ) is the Parliament in the two-chamber system in Uzbekistan .

The parliament is located in the capital Tashkent . Since January 28, 2005 the parliament has two chambers : the legislative house (lower house) and the senate (upper house), each elected for five years. Oliy Majlis has the legislative power according to Article 8, Paragraph II of the Uzbek Constitution .

Elections to the legislative lower house

After the elections on December 27, 2009 and January 10, 2010, the strongest parties were the Liberal Democratic Party of Uzbekistan as the presidential party and the pro-government People's Democratic Party of Uzbekistan .

The last election took place on December 21, 2014 with a runoff at the beginning of January 2015. Other than the four system parties already represented in parliament were not allowed to run. The Environmental Movement of Uzbekistan occupied according to the Constitution 15 seats, which have been nominated as part of a party congress.
