Men's tennis singles at the 1996 Summer Olympics .

Andre Agassi and Sergi Bruguera competed in the final , which Agassi won in three sets. Since Agassi was also able to win all four Grand Slam tournaments in the course of his career, he managed the career golden slam , which apart from him only Rafael Nadal has so far succeeded. In the game for the bronze medal, Leander Paes , who started with a wildcard , won in three sets against Fernando Meligeni .
