Latvia took in 2002 for the seventh time at the Olympic Winter Games in part. A total of 47 athletes were sent to Salt Lake City to compete in eight disciplines. No medals were won.

The flag bearer at the opening ceremony was the ice hockey player Harijs Vītoliņš .
