Otto Hildebrand

Otto Hildebrand (born November 15, 1858 in Bern , † October 18, 1927 in Berlin ) was a German surgeon and university professor .

Life

Hildebrand studied medicine at the University of Jena and became a Dr. med. PhD . After completing his habilitation in the three emperor year , he came in 1896 as a. o. Professor at the Surgical Polyclinic of the Charité . In 1899 he followed the call of the University of Basel to her chair for surgery. In 1904 he returned to the Charité as a full professor . The fact that he retired and died in 1927 at the age of 69 moved Ferdinand Sauerbruch to move from Munich to Berlin and be able to fill both Berlin chairs .

With his wife Frieda geb. von Seebach (* 1868) had two daughters.
