Karl Kremer
Karl Kremer (born November 21, 1915 in Düsseldorf ; † July 25, 2009 there ) was a German surgeon.
Life
Kremer studied medicine in Munich, Leipzig, Vienna and Innsbruck from 1937 to 1942. In 1942 he was promoted to Dr. med. PhD. After the end of the Second World War he completed his surgical training in Berlin and in 1954 became senior physician at the university clinic of the Humboldt University, today's Charité . In 1956 Kremer became a senior physician at the surgical department of the University Hospital in Düsseldorf . In 1957 he completed his habilitation in Düsseldorf and taught as a private lecturer at the universities of Düsseldorf and Bochum.
In 1961 he was appointed director of the surgical clinic of the Essen municipal hospitals . After incorporation into the Westphalian Wilhelms University of Münster , he was appointed full professor and director of the surgical clinic in 1963. In 1970 he moved to the University Clinic in Düsseldorf as professor for general, abdominal and trauma surgery and director of the surgical clinic and polyclinic. In 1986 he retired.
The North Rhine Medical Association appointed him to the newly established expert commission for medical malpractice in 1975, and since 1983 as a deputy managing member. He has contributed to the out-of-court settlement of medical liability disputes between patients and doctors in numerous assessment cases.
Together with Horst-Eberhard Grewe, Kremer was co-editor of the standard work on the teaching of surgical operations. An atlas for practice .
In 1968 Karl Kremer was appointed Knight of the Order of Knights of the Holy Sepulcher by Cardinal Grand Master Eugène Cardinal Tisserant and on July 8, 1968 in Munich by Lorenz Cardinal Jaeger , Grand Prior of the German Lieutenancy, and Hermann Josef Abs , Lieutenant in Germany, in the Order invested. Most recently he was a Grand Officer of the Order.
