Pizzoferrato is an Italian municipality ( comune ) with 1006 inhabitants (as of December 31, 2019) in the province of Chieti in Abruzzo . The municipality is located about 47.5 kilometers south of Chieti in the Majella National Park , belongs to the Comunità montana Medio Sangro and borders directly on the province of Isernia ( Molise ). The Sangro forms the southeastern border of the municipality .
