history

The name Poggersdorf (also: Bogeratesdorf, Bubbelsdorf, Pukkersdorf) is derived from the settlement of a Bogerat. Poggersdorf was first mentioned in a document in 1150. In 1316 King Ludwig IV gave the knight Wohlfart Zenger von Wetterfeld the bailiff in Poggersdorf. The Siegenhofer also had inheritance in Poggersdorf in 1317.

On March 23, 1913, Poggersdorf was part of the Penting parish , consisted of five houses and had 44 residents.

On December 31, 1990, Poggersdorf had 21 residents and belonged to the Penting parish.

Poggersdorf is known for a large horse farm with a guesthouse, inn and campsite. Close to Poggersdorf passes the southern route of the predicate trail Goldsteig which Marktredwitz with Passau connects.
