The Northwest region is one of the eight regions of the United States that sends participants to the Little League Baseball World Series , the largest youth baseball tournament. The northwest region has been taking part in this tournament since 1957 (see: West region 1957–2000 ). When the field of participants doubled in 2001, the Northwest region was replaced by the West .
Participating States
The following six states are organized in this region:
Hawaii was also in the Northwest Region from 2002 to 2006, when Wyoming was in the West Region . In 2001 Colorado was also divided into the northwest, but then moved to the southwest region .
