Reinhardt Zudrop

Reinhardt Zudrop (* 29. June 1957 ) is a former German officer of the Army of the Armed Forces , most recently in rank of major general . In his last assignment from June 2016 to March 2020, he was in command of the Inner Guidance Center in Koblenz .

Life

Military career

Training and first uses

In 1976, Zudrop joined the German Armed Forces as an officer candidate at the 172 Jägerbataillon in Lübeck . From 1977 to 1981 he completed a degree at the University of the Federal Armed Forces in Hamburg , which he completed with a degree in business administration. Subsequently, Lieutenant Zudrop was deployed as platoon leader and intelligence officer ( S2 ) in Jägerbataillon 522 in Fürstenau until 1985 . In 1985, Zudrop took over command of 4th  Company of Panzer Grenadier Battalion 53 in Fritzlar as company commander . During this employment he was promoted to captain .

Service as a staff officer

From 1988 to 1990, Zudrop was trained as an officer in the General Staff Service in the General / Admiralty Staff Service National (LGAN) course at the Command Academy of the Bundeswehr in Hamburg . Before the course, he completed a pre-training course in Spanish . After the LGAN he was promoted to major and in 1990 he was transferred to Koblenz , where he worked as an officer for military communications  (G2) and secretary of the Army Structure 5 working group on the staff of III. Corps under the command of Lieutenant General Anton Steer and Peter Heinrich Carstens . From 1992 to 1993 Zudrop completed the Spanish general staff course in Madrid and was subsequently promoted to lieutenant colonel.

Back in Germany, Zudrop served in the Foreign Office until 1995 as a consultant for arms control and disarmament. In 1995 he was transferred to Ahlen , where he took command of the 192 Panzer Grenadier Battalion , which he led until 1997. Afterwards he was transferred to the Federal Ministry of Defense in Bonn , where he initially served as a consultant for principles of armament in the command staff of the army (FüH II 4). After a year he moved in 1998 into the Department Einsatzaufgaben army (FüH III 4) and worked there until 2001 under the direction of Chief of Staff , Major General Norbert van Heyst . In 2001 he was transferred to Mönchengladbach , where he worked for one year as Staff Officer 1 Planning Fire Coordination (FCOORD) in the headquarters of the Allied Rapid Reaction Corps of NATO .

In 2002, Zudrop was transferred to the Army Command in Koblenz , where he served as group leader G3 planning, deployment, organization under the command of the Chiefs of Staff , Brigadier Generals Roland Kather and Bruno Kasdorf , until 2005 . Zudrop remained in the Army Command and was a staff officer in 1995 at the special disposal of the Operations Department Head (G3). During this time he served as Head of Military Intelligence (CJ2) on the staff of EUFOR , which was deployed in Operation Althea in Bosnia-Herzegovina .

In 2005 Zudrop, meanwhile promoted to Colonel , was transferred to the Bonn Federal Ministry of Defense and served there until 2007 as Head of the Army Operations Department in the Army Command (FüH III 4) under the Chief of Staff, Major General Volker Wieker . In 2007 he was transferred to Regensburg , where Zudrop took over the post of Chief of Staff in the Special Operations Division under the command of Major General Hans-Lothar Domröse and Hans-Werner Fritz . During this assignment, Zudrop completed another assignment abroad , this time as part of the ISAF in Afghanistan , where he served as commander of the Provincial Reconstruction Team Kunduz from March to September 29, 2010 . Zudrop gave the post of Chief of Staff to Colonel i. G. Frank Schlösser exits.

Service as a general

On November 11, 2010, Zudrop took over command of Airborne Brigade 31 in Oldenburg from Brigadier General Frank Leidenberger and was promoted to Brigadier General. In May 2013 he handed back command and was then deputy commander of the Special Operations Division and senior site officer at the Stadtallendorf site . In October 2014, Zudrop switched to the Army Command in Strausberg and became Head of Operations. In June 2016 he began his last assignment as commander of the Inner Guidance Center in Koblenz. On March 27, 2020, he handed over the command to his successor, André Bodemann , and was retired.

Private

Zudrop is married to Martina, the daughter of the former Federal Foreign Minister Hans-Dietrich Genscher ( FDP ), and has two children.
