composition
The parliament of Tajikistan is the Maschlisi Olii as a two-chamber system . The Maschlisi Olii consists of the National Assembly Maschlisi Milli and the Representative Assembly Majlisi Namojandagon . A total of 63 members are directly elected to the Assembly of Representatives for five years each.

The last election took place on March 1, 2015. The parliamentary majority has been held by the People's Democratic Party of Tajikistan since 2000 .
Parliament building
The parliament building is located in the capital Dushanbe . It was originally built for the Supreme Soviet of the Tajik SSR and is considered an example of Socialist Classicism .
