The 2014 Rio Open was an international category women's tennis tournament with a total prize pool of $ 250,000. They were part of the WTA Tour 2014 and took place in Rio de Janeiro from February 17th to 22nd, 2014 . In the same week, the Dubai Duty Free Tennis Championships 2014 took place in Dubai , which belonged to the premier category.

The Rio Open were played on a clay court. 32 players competed in singles, 16 couples competed in doubles.

The tournament was held for the second time since 1984 in 2014.

Qualification for the Rio Open 2014 took place from February 15th to 16th, 2014. Six qualifying places were played out in two rounds, which entitle them to participate in the main draw of the tournament.
