history

The area was already settled in the Stone Age, as individual reading finds show. Around the present-day settlement area, three open-air stations from the Mesolithic and a settlement site from the Urnfield period are protected as soil monuments. The fertile, humus Zenngrund offered good soil yields and rich fishing and hunting grounds. Find horizons from the pre-Roman Iron Age and the Roman Imperial Era are completely absent, so that a resettlement is not likely until the Carolingian period.

The town was mentioned in 1246 as "Rizmanshof" was first documented as Herdegen of the Grindelach for his salvation's sake German Order Coming Nuremberg gave his property in the village. The defining word of the place name is the personal name Rizaman.

Towards the end of the 18th century there were 5 properties in Ritzmannshof (4 half courtyards, 1 estate). The high court exercised the Brandenburg-Ansbach city bailiff Langenzenn . The Teutonic Order Commander Nuremberg was the landlord of all properties .

As part of the community edict, Ritzmannshof was assigned to the Vach tax district formed in 1808 . It also belonged to the rural community Vach , which was founded in the same year .

In the course of regional reform in Bavaria , Ritzmannshof was incorporated into Fürth on July 1, 1972.

With the construction boom that began in the 1950s, Ritzmannshof has now increased its settlement area of 1.2  hectares by around sevenfold. The built-up area of the district today covers about nine hectares. The formerly agricultural areas were given up in favor of home and residential development, so that the place is now part of the so-called bacon belt of the city of Fürth.
