The Seat Cordoba , named after the Spanish city of Córdoba , is a model of the Seat car brand .

General

The Cordoba is a compact notchback sedan (later also as a station wagon) based on the Seat Ibiza . The technology comes from the Polo 6N , Golf 3 or Polo 9N (depending on the year and model).

Another variant is the Seat Inca (9KS) panel van , identical in construction to the VW Caddy (9KV). The sister model of the VW Polo Classic / Variant (6KV) is identical to the Cordoba / Vario. However, there are differences to the VW sister model, such as the headlights, the radiator grille, the taillights and other details. The engine range and the equipment lines are almost identical to those in the Ibiza.

history

The Cordoba (6K / C) was first introduced together with the Ibiza (6K). From the beginning of 1993 to the summer of 1999, the Cordoba (like the Ibiza) received several small visual improvements.

In the summer of 1996 the Cordoba Vario was introduced as a station wagon. From the 6K / C GP01 model, there was a new front and rear section, clear glass headlights and a new cockpit, but the base is still the 6K.

With the Cordoba GP01 introduced in August 1999, Ibiza and Cordoba distance themselves visually from their sister model, the Polo. There are serious differences with the Cordoba 6L / C: there is no longer a two-door model, the standard rear wing that is installed in the 6K and GP01 is missing. There is also no Cupra version and no station wagon of the Cordoba 6L.

In the spring of 1996, the two-door variant appeared, along with small changes to the details. It should appeal to sporty drivers. The SX equipment line was even reserved for the two-door model.

In August 1996, a station wagon called Cordoba Vario was added to the range.

Equipment variants

The Seat Cordoba was available in the equipment lines S, SE, SXE, CLX, GLX, GT, GTI and as a sports model the exclusively two-door Cordoba SX. The Comfort and Exclusiv variants followed later. There were also several special models such as Amaro, Aniversario, Spring, and Fresh, based on the CLX and GLX equipment lines.
