history
overview
The founding of the oldest districts Wiernsheim and Iptingen goes back to the time between 500 and 700. The two places were first mentioned in the 12th century and came to Württemberg in 1504 via the Maulbronn Monastery . The districts of Pinache and Serres were founded in 1699 by religious refugees ( Waldensians ), to whom the Duke of Württemberg had allocated land in what is now northern Italy after their expulsion from Piedmont.
When the young Kingdom of Württemberg was reorganized at the beginning of the 19th century, the four places were transferred from the monastery to the Maulbronn Oberamt . In 1842 Iptingen moved to the Oberamt Vaihingen , while Wiernsheim, Pinache and Serres remained with the Oberamt (or from 1934 to 1938 with the district) Maulbronn until 1934. During the district reform during the Nazi era in Württemberg , all four towns became part of the Vaihingen district in 1938 . In 1945 the places fell into the American zone of occupation and thus belonged to the newly founded state of Württemberg-Baden , which was added to the state of Baden-Württemberg in 1952. Due to the district reform in Baden-Württemberg , the places came to the Enzkreis in 1973 . In the course of the municipal reform in Baden-Württemberg , the municipality of Pinache was incorporated on January 1, 1970. On January 1, 1974, the municipalities of Iptingen and Serres were incorporated.
Districts
Wiernsheim
Pinache
Pinache is a Waldensian place. The place was founded in 1699 so that religious refugees from the Chisonetal could settle there. The oldest Waldensian church in Germany is located in Pinache and was built in 1721. |
Serres
Iptingen
Due to the ending of the place name in -ingen, Iptingen should be regarded as an Alemannic foundation from before 500 AD. The earliest documented mention of Iptingen dates back to around 1120. On February 4, 1206, King Philip confirmed the return of the property in Iptingen, which Ulrich von Iptingen had first given to Maulbronn Monastery , but which was later sold to the Count Palatine of Tübingen . An outstanding historical building in Iptingen is the fortified church , which goes back to an old castle, which was first mentioned in 1194. Today's church tower is still the old castle with the exception of the half-timbered part with clock and bells that was added later. Around 1250 the ring scrubs still preserved today were added to the stockpiling. In 1504 Württemberg took over sovereignty over the Maulbronn monastery and thus also over Iptingen. The place was evangelical during the Reformation in 1535 and subordinated to the Maulbronn monastery office in 1557. |
religion
With the Reformation , Wiernsheim, like all of Württemberg, became Protestant . The parishes of the Protestant Waldensians , who were settled in Pinache and Serres in 1699, have meanwhile been incorporated into the Evangelical Church . At the end of the 18th century, Johann Georg Rapp led a community of radical Pietists from Iptingen , the majority of whom emigrated to North America with Rapp at the beginning of the 19th century.
Today there are several Protestant parishes (see Mauritius Church ) as well as a Roman Catholic and a New Apostolic congregation.
