The 2018 Shenzhen Open was a women's tennis tournament in Shenzhen . The hard court tournament in the International category was part of the WTA Tour 2018 and took place from January 1st to 6th, 2018, parallel to the WTA tournaments in Auckland and Brisbane .

The defending champions were Kateřina Siniaková in singles and the pairing Andrea Sestini Hlaváčková / Peng Shuai in doubles.

The tournament was won by Simona Halep . Halep and her compatriot Irina-Camelia Begu also prevailed in doubles . Due to the rainy weather, both finals took place in the hall, with no spectators and no television broadcast.

Qualification for the Shenzhen Open 2018 took place from December 30th to 31st, 2017. Four places were played out for the main draw in singles.
