Sineu is a municipality on the Spanish Balearic island of Mallorca . It is located in the middle of the island in the es Plà plain and has 3862 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2019), of which 2953 lived in the town of the same name (as of 2008). In 2006 the proportion of foreigners in the municipality was 13.6% (427), the proportion of German residents 4.7% (147).

Sineu was the royal seat of King Jaume II in the Middle Ages .

Weekly market in Sineu

One of Sineu's attractions is the weekly cattle and handicraft market on Wednesday mornings, which is the only real farmers' market on Mallorca. It has existed since 1306. You can buy almost anything in the market, from local products to clothing. One of the biggest attractions of the market is the animal market.

Attractions

Parish church of Nuestra Senyora de los Angeles with a small church museum. The church was first mentioned in 1248 and rebuilt after a fire in the 16th century.
