City with county law

A city ​​with county law is a city in Hungary that takes on the functions and competencies of the county on its own responsibility. Since 2006 Hungary has 23 cities with county law: all county seats and five other cities. (The capital Budapest has had a special legal position among Hungarian cities since it was founded; it does not belong to any county.)
