Tatiana Maslany
Tatiana Gabrielle Maslany (born September 22, 1985 in Regina , Saskatchewan ) is a Canadian actress and television producer .
life and career
Tatiana Maslany was born in September 1985 as the daughter of a translator and a carpenter in Regina , the capital of the Canadian province of Saskatchewan . She has two younger brothers and Ukrainian and Polish ancestors on one side and German, Austrian and Romanian ancestors on the other. She speaks English, French, German and some Spanish. She started dancing at the age of four and played in amateur theaters and musicals for the first time when she was nine . Until she graduated from Dr. Martin LeBoldus High School, she took part in school performances and improvisation courses.
She had her first television appearance in the form of the lead role Rome Greyson in the Canadian children's series 2030 CE , which she played from 2002 to 2003. In 2004 she was seen as Ghost in the horror film Ginger Snaps II - Unleashed , the sequel to Ginger Snaps - The Beast in You from 2000, and in four episodes of the youth series Renegadepress.com . For the latter she was nominated at the Gemini Awards 2005 in the category Best Performance in a Childrens' or Youth Program or Series . In Lifetime - TV movie Dawn Anna (2005), among other things, on the true story about the Columbine High School massacre is based in 1999, she played the twelve year-old daughter Lauren "Lulu" Dawn Townsend . In the following two years she played leading roles in the four television films Booky Makes Her Mark , The Robber's Bride , Echoes 2 - Voices from the Between Worlds and Sabbatical , before she played the role of Lindsay Rollins in 2007 in the horror film The Messengers , who tries with her family To take revenge on her killer took over. For her acting performance she was u. a. for the Golden Globe Award as Best Television Series Actress - Drama nomination, won at the Critics' Choice Television Awards in 2013 and 2014 twice in a row the award in the category Best Actress in a Drama Series and received in 2016 also the Emmy in this category. In two episodes of the sixth season of the NBC - comedy series Parks and Recreation , she played Nadia , a friend of Tom Haverford ( Aziz Ansari ). In 2013 she also took on the lead role of Dylan Morgan in the Canadian indie film Cas & Dylan , which premiered at the Atlantic Film Festival in September 2013, alongside Richard Dreyfuss . For this role Maslany was in 2014 at the Canadian Screen Awards as best actress nomination.
Since the third season of Orphan Black , Maslany has also acted as a producer on the series. In the US-British film drama Die Frau in Gold (2015) about the return of some paintings confiscated by the Nazi regime , she portrayed the young Maria Altmann . In 2018, she starred alongside Nicole Kidman in the thriller Destroyer .
She has been in a relationship with Welsh actor Tom Cullen since 2011 .
