Tyson Craig Beckford (born December 19, 1970 in the Bronx , New York City ) is an American actor and television presenter . In addition, he also works as a model and also tries his hand at motor sports . He is widely regarded as the first male supermodel and one of the highest paid models in the world. He is also one of the thousands of producers of The 1 Second Films , a long-standing film project supported by numerous famous people. In the fashion world he is mostly only known by his first name Tyson .

life and career

Tyson Craig Beckford was in the winter of 1970 in the Bronx , New York City in the State of New York as the son of a Jamaican-Chinese descent father (Lloyd Beckford) and a Chinese-Panamanian-ghanaischstämmigen nut (Hillary Dixon Hall). After he spent the first few years of his life in New York, the family moved to Jamaica , where they stayed until Tyson Beckford was seven and eight years old, respectively, before returning to New York. There he eventually grew up in Rochester , from where he attended Bay Trail Middle School in nearby Penfield and from there to Pittsford Mendon High School in the affluent suburb of Pittsford . There he was part of the Urban-Suburban Program , a program that aims to give the urban youth who live in the suburbs or school districts around the city an opportunity to receive an education. In high school belonged Beckford, whose cousin the small forward of the Los Angeles Lakers , Ron Artest of is the school's Football- and the track team. In the same year he was also one of the nominees for the VH1 award "Best Male Model", but where he could not prevail against the competition. Like numerous other models, Beckford decided to venture into the acting field at the millennium . He took on his first notable role in the film Boricua's Bond , released in 2000 . After he appeared in Boricua's Bond as himself, he also played himself in the Ben Stiller film Zoolander again the following year . He was also on the jury for the 2001 Miss Universe election. Trivia

  • On June 7, 2005, Beckford was involved in a car accident. While driving in Secaucus shortly before five in the morning , he lost control of his new Dodge Ram SRT-10 and collided with a power pole. The car caught fire shortly afterwards, but Beckford managed to get himself out of the car before it burned out. After the rescue workers arrived, he was taken to Jersey City Medical Center , where he eventually received medical attention due to trauma and cuts. In a later interview on The Oprah Winfrey Show , he said that this accident had a profound effect on his spirituality.
