The US Highway 91 (short US 91 ) is now only a north-south connection of Idaho Falls in southern Idaho in the metropolitan area to Salt Lake City in Utah . It was a long-distance route from Montana to California until the mid-1970s . This function has since taken over the Interstate 15 . Part of the former route in California between Los Angeles and Riverside still exists as California State Route 91 .

US Highway 91 begins at Brigham City and then runs in the Wellsville Mountains through Wellsville Canyon to Cache Valley . He passes Mantua and Mantua Lake . The highway serves as the main road in the valley. The largest city is Logan . Both parts of the Cache Valley in Utah and Idaho belong to the Logan Utah Metropolitan Statistical Area.
Idaho
The US 91 continues to Preston , the largest city in the Cache Valley in Idaho. The US Highway then runs back to Interstate 15 and follows Yellowstone Avenue in Pocatello to Idaho Falls.
