The Umaghlessi League 2000/01 was the 12th season of the Georgian top division in men's football . Defending champion Torpedo Kutaisi won the championship title for the second time.

mode

The game time was conducted in a two-tier format. First, each team competed against each other twice; once at home and once away. After this phase, the six best teams qualified for the championship round, the others played two direct relegated teams in the relegation round. The third from last had to play a relegation game against the third in the Pirveli League.
