The Foreurs de Val-d'Or ( English Val-d'Or Foreurs ) are an ice hockey team from Val-d'Or in the Abitibi-Témiscamingue region , Québec , Canada . The team, which was founded in 1993, plays in the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League , which is part of the Canadian Hockey League , and plays its home games at Center Air Creebec .

Former NHL player of the Quebec Nordiques , Pierre Aubry , was the first coach of the team that so far three times the Coupe du Président won: In the season 1997/98, 2000/01 and 2013/14 . Then you took part in the tournament for the Memorial Cup . In the preliminary round in 1998, the team did not win a single game and thus missed the final, in 2001 they lost the final against the Red Deer Rebels 5-6 after extra time .

The Huskies de Rouyn-Noranda were founded in 1996 - this gave the Foreurs a rival in northwest Québec ( Rouyn-Noranda is about 100 km west of Val d'Or). The derbies between the two teams represent a highlight in the region and attract significantly larger crowds.
