Vibe is the 13th solo album by the Berlin rapper Fler . It was released on September 2, 2016 on his own label, Maskulin Music Group . It was released on Apple Music on August 26, 2016 .
background
After Fler had released two albums and his first best-of compilation Der Staat gegen Patrick Decker in 2015 with Nobody gets along with me and Weil die Straße not forget , Fler announced at the end of the year for 2016 the release of another solo album entitled Carlo Escobar . Its publication date was set to May 27, 2016 in February 2016. In April 2016, Fler announced that Carlo Escobar's publication would be postponed to September 2, 2016 and later announced that his, as yet unannounced, EP parole would instead appear on the originally targeted date . The rappers Farid Bang as well as Bonez MC and Gzuz had previously announced the release of their respective albums Blut and High & Hungrig 2 for May 27, 2016 , whereupon the Deutschrap online media announced an upcoming competition between artists of the same genre for the top of the chart reported in release week. In an interview with the website Hiphop.de , Fler stated that he had already noticed in February 2016 that he would not be able to meet the target release date, because he, especially at the urging of the rapper Shindy , had tried to record the best possible album and this one Process would take longer than planned. Fler later cited difficulties in producing the record version as the reason for the postponement . On May 25, 2016, Fler also announced via Twitter that the album title would be changed to Vibe . According to Fler, so much has changed musically in the meantime that the title change became necessary.

The album was largely produced by the music producers Iad Aslan and Nico Chiara. Only the music for the songs Mercedesstern and Unterwegs comes from C-Wash and Oster.
Cover design
The album cover shows Fler, a Alpha - bomber jacket bears and a baseball cap and looks down. Blurred graffiti can be seen in the background . In the middle of the picture is the white lettering Vibe .
Guest Posts
In addition to Fler, other artists are represented on five songs on the album. The rapper Jalil , who is under contract with Masculin, has guest appearances in the songs Bundle and Armed & Ready . On the way the rapper Sentino heard while the rapper Laas Unltd. appears at the track Famebitch . The title Attitude is a collaboration with rappers Bushido and Shindy .

Vibe entered the German album charts at number 1 on September 9, 2016, and was 12th the following week. It stayed in the top 100 for five weeks. The album also reached the top position in Austria and Switzerland . According to the artist himself, Vibe sold 18,000 times in its first week of sales. According to Flers, the album should have sold over 40,000 units by mid-February 2017. These figures were then contradicted by Hadi El-Dor, the artist manager of the rapper Manuellsen . Hiphop.de put the sales of Vibe in Germany up to February 19, 2017 at 33,852 units.
On February 10, 2016, a music video for the song Unterwegs was released , which was released a little later as the first single for download from iTunes . The song Infrared was released on February 23, followed by the second single Lifestyle of the poor and dangerous , which was released on March 25, 2016. On July 29th, the third single Junge aus der City was released and on August 12th, 2016 the track You have the most beautiful ass in the world followed , which reached number 93 in the German charts. In addition, a video for the track Armed & Ready was released on October 17, 2016 .
Reviews
Vibe received mostly positive reviews. The hip-hop magazine Juice rated Vibe with 4.5 out of a possible 6 crowns and particularly emphasized the contemporary sound and the almost complete renunciation of Disses against its musical competition compared to previous Fler publications : “In contrast to the majority of his opponents and Fler had completely deciphered the DNA of the most contemporary sound from competitors: rolling sub-basses, flawless stop-n-go flow, new catchy hooks. So the more times shifted and renamed "Vibe" is the magnum opus as a supposed late work. " Negative, however, was explicitly the title you have the most beautiful ass in the world mentioned.

Aria Nejati wrote for Hiphop.de that Fler had “finally put the best album of his career off the ground with Vibe .” The Berliner managed to “optimally combine attitude and atmosphere over the length of the album”.
Tristan Heming judged on the occasion of a column about the Kollegah-Disstracks Fanpost 2 in the online magazine Splash Mag about Vibe : “Fler's new album“ Vibe ”sets more new impulses and brings more new sound images to Rap Germany than Kolle has in his entire career did. With "Vibe", Fler probably produced one of the best German rap albums in recent years. "
Critic awards & annual best lists
Both the Juice Awards in 2016 as well as in the Hiphop.de Awards 2016 was Vibe in the category Best Album (National) or Best relase (National) nominated. Vibe couldn't win either of these prizes . At the Hiphop.de Awards 2016 it took second place behind the album Palmen aus Plastik by Bonez MC and RAF Camora .
In the hip-hop editorial annual charts of the e-zine Laut.de , Vibe took 19th place.
