traffic

Wallau has a rail connection with the Wallau (Lahn) train station. This is located on the section of the Upper Lahn Valley Railway, which was opened in 1883 . With the integration of the Schelden Valley Railway in 1911, the station became a separation station .

In 1987, passenger traffic on the Schelden Valley Railway was discontinued, and since then only a few sections of the Schelden Valley Railway have been used for freight traffic. Of the original three platform tracks, only one remains. The station building , which was damaged in an air raid in 1944 , was replaced by a partially new building in the 1950s. In 2010 the station building was demolished. Today the Wallau (Lahn) stop is served every hour from Monday to Saturday to Marburg and Bad Laasphe . Every two hours the trains are tied through Bad Laasphe to Erndtebrück , there is a connection to the Rothaarbahn to Bad Berleburg and Siegen . On Sundays and public holidays there is a two-hour cycle all day long on the entire route from Erndtebrück to Marburg. Wallau (Lahn) station is part of the Rhein-Main-Verkehrsverbund (RMV) area.
