She has been in many bands since the age of 12 and was signed to Libido records an off-shoot of hitmaker Waterman's PWL label at ages 16 but never had much chart success, it is believed that this experience have dented her confidence in her singing ability but she is hoping this experience will bring it all back.

Niki Evans


Niki Evans (born 13 December 1972) is an English singer-songwriter. She is most famous for coming fourth in the fourth series of the popular television talent show The X Factor.

Biography

The X Factor

Evans was in the '25 and over' category, mentored by X FactorLouis Walsh, alongside Beverley Trotman and Daniel DeBourg. The first live show saw her singing the Sinéad O'Connor hit Nothing Compares 2 U". These were followed by performances of "My Heart Will Go On", "All That Jazz", "Because of You", "Hot Stuff", and "The Power of Love". She was often highly praised by the judges for her strong vocals throughout the show, especially by former judge Sharon Osbourne. After Niki performed the song "Nothing Compares 2 U on the first liveshow, Osbourne told Niki, "Simon said there was a winner in this category, and I think it might be you." Furhter on in the competition, performances of "Total Eclipse of the Heart" and "Fields of Gold" won her a place in the semi-finals, where she was voted out after her renditions of Eva Cassidy's "Songbird" and Whitney Houston's "One Moment in Time".

Post X Factor

Since The X Factor, Niki Evans has taken part in many gigs including the live X Factor arena tour with the other X Factor finalists. She has been offered a record deal and a role in a West End production in 2009 according to her official website. She has stated that she cannot reveal any more details until the X Factor tour is over due to a contract.

After The X Factor Tour, Niki's version of the Series 4 winner's single When You Believe was leaked on her official website. Many fans and audiences feel that this should have won the competition and Simon Cowell had also admitted on GM:TV that Niki recorded the best version.

Since leaving the show, she has signed a record deal, with her debut album to be released later this year. Niki's new single is to be released Summer 2008, called "Love Me No More"

Niki also now has a star named after her. It is true that her fans are still dedicated to her months on from the X Factor, sending her presents and gifts as a token of appreciation and dedication towards her, as shown on her site, www.niki-evans.com.

The Official Niki Evans Fan Club was launched on 1st June 2008.
