The 1st Yugoslav Football League 1975/76 was the 47th season of the highest Yugoslav league in men's football . It began on August 17, 1975 and ended on July 11, 1976. Between the 30th and 31st game day, it was interrupted by a 17-day break because of the 1976 European Championship .
The championship was decided on the last day of the match. After Hajduk Split won the cup for the third time in a row at the end of May 1976, the club missed the double hat-trick on the last match day with a 1-1 draw at OFK Belgrade and had to go to Partizan Belgrade , who at the same time won 1-0 at Olimpija Ljubljana in the 93 . Minute won, left the championship.
At the end of the table, FK Radnički Kragujevac was the first to be relegated two game days before the end of the season. The second relegated team was determined on the last match day between the penultimate and third last. FK Radnički Niš saved themselves through a goalless draw at Vardar Skopje .
