The  Rhineland Amateur Football League 1961/62  was the 10th season of the 1st Amateur League , the predecessor of  the Rhineland Association League, also known as the Rhineland League. This league represented the substructure of the II. Southwest Division until 1963 and was thus third-class in the overall league hierarchy. It was the 6th season in which the league played with two seasons East and West. The Rhineland champion was determined between the two relay winners.

Rhineland champion was the winner of the East season, VfB Wissen , after a 4-2 victory over West champion Alemannia Plaidt in the championship game in Neuwied. The subsequent round of promotion to the II. Southwest Division ended Knowledge in second place, which entitled to promotion.

Altenkirchener SG , FC Urbar , SV Leiwen and the Rhineland champions from last year SV Ehrang had to go down to the 2nd amateur league .

Season West

After 26 match days, BSV Weißenthurm and Alemannia Plaidt were tied in front. In this case, it was not the better goal difference of Weißenthurm that decided, but a play-off was held in Andernach, which Plaidt won 3-2 in extra time and thus became opponent of Wissen in the championship game.
