The District Court of Limburg a. d. Lahn is a court of ordinary jurisdiction and one of four local courts (AG) in the district of the regional court Limburg ( Hesse ).

The court is based in Limburg an der Lahn in Hesse . The judicial district includes the municipalities of Limburg, Hadamar , Bad Camberg , Dornburg , Hünstelden , Elbtal , Selters , Elz , Runkel , Waldbrunn and Brechen .

The Hadamar branch is responsible for care , accommodation and fines for the entire district as well as for land registry matters in the communities of Hadamar, Elz, Elbe Valley, Dornburg and Waldbrunn.

The Limburg District Court also handles insolvency proceedings as well as commercial and cooperative registry matters for the district of the Weilburg District Court , which in turn is responsible for family matters from the Limburg District Court district.

history

After the annexation of the Duchy of Nassau by the Kingdom of Prussia in the German War in 1866, the old offices were also abolished there and the separation of justice and administration implemented down to the lowest level of the state. In the course of this development, the Prussian Minister of Justice ordered the establishment of a local court in Limburg with effect from September 1, 1867, the district of which was formed from the former Limburg Office and thus the localities of Limburg, Dauborn , Dehrn , Dietkirchen , Eschhofen , Heringen , Kirberg , Lindenholzhausen , Linter , Mensfelden , Mühlen , Nauheim , Neesbach , Niederbruch , Oberbruch , Ears , Staffel and Werschau . Initially the district of the District Court Limburg belonging, the district court because of Limburg was Judicature Act , effective the district of the newly built for October 1, 1879 the District Court Limburg allocated to the district court district itself has not changed.

In 1943, the Camberg District Court was declared a branch of the Limburg District Court, which expanded its district to include the communities of Camberg , Dombach , Eisenbach , Erbach , Haintchen , Hasselbach , Niederselters , Oberselters , Schwickershausen and Würges . With the expiry of May 31, 1968, the Camberg branch district court was then completely repealed.

There were further changes in the course of the regional reform in Hesse , so on April 12, 1972, the town of Ahlbach , which was incorporated into Limburg, was replaced by the Hadamar district court and on June 1, 1976, the municipality of Runkel and the district of Münster, which was incorporated by Selters, became part of the Weilburg district court and Limburg District Offheim from AG Hadamar added.

The last expansion of the Limburg judicial district to date by adding the communities Dornburg, Elbtal, Elz, Hadamar and Waldbrunn (Westerwald) took place on January 1, 2005, when the Hadamar District Court became a branch of the AG Limburg.

Superior courts

The Limburg Regional Court is superordinate to the Limburg District Court. The competent higher regional court is the higher regional court in Frankfurt am Main .
